Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ page). Below, I have tried to answer the most common questions visitors to this Web site may have. If you find that your question is not answered on this page, please email me firstname.lastname@example.org.
What animals do you work with?
I am most experienced with dogs and horses, but am happy to work with all animals, including birds and livestock. I also photograph wildlife and captive animals.
How much do you charge?
Please visit my Products page for information on prices of final products. This is to give my customers an idea of additional photo gifts available, and does not cover the time spent on shoots or editing afterwards. Please contact me for more information on photo shoot prices. I can arrange payment plans for people with low incomes.
What qualifications do you have?
I hold a BSc Hons in Conservation Biology and Management, as well as several activity teaching certificates (first aid, horse riding, pool attendant and swimming). I currently have no photographic qualifications. I am CRB and Disclosure Scotland checked, and hold both Human and Canine First Aid Certificates.
What area do you cover/ How far will you travel?
As I cannot currently drive, I am limited to places within easy access of public transport from Bangor. Alternatively, I am happy to catch a lift if available. I regularly travel to Oban and Stirling, and can arrange shoots in other areas.
Do you cover events?
I am available for some event photography, but do not do weddings or parties. I have covered music and sporting events in the past, as well as community groups. Please contact me to discuss your needs. All events and shows that I will be attending will be posted on my Calendar page.
How can I purchase my photos?
For event/ show photography - After the event, I will upload a selection of photos to my website (Calendar page), usually within 2 weeks of the event. These will be available for general browsing. If you would like to see more photos from the event, please contact me with a description of your dog, horse etc and I will e-mail you thumbnails of the photos taken*.
For individual shoots - After a shoot, I will contact you with thumbnails of the photos taken, usually within a week of the shoot.
*You may then select which ones you would like printed. I can offer discounts for multiples. If you require digital copies of photos, I will provide them at an additional cost on cd. Payments will be processed using Pay Pal, but I also accept cash and cheque (made payable to Paw Print Pet Photography)
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes, they can be purchased directly from me.
Why do you insist on a consultation?
The consultation enables me to meet you and your pet and to assess if your chosen package is suitable, or if there is anything we may have overlooked. It is also an opportunity for you to ask me any questions you may have and for your pet to become acquainted with me, rather than meet a stranger on the day of the shoot (they are more likely to behave naturally if we have already met). I charge a non-refundable consultation fee, however this is taken as a deposit for your shoot, should you book one.
My pet has a medical condition/ behavioural issues... will you still work with us?
As long as safety and the wellbeing of your pet are not being compromised, I am happy to work with “difficult” dogs. I have some experience working with nervous and sometimes aggressive dogs, but will not push any pet just to get the perfect photo. I hope to attend a Canine First Aid course in the near future.
I am looking for photos to publish on my website. Can you provide photos in digital format?
Yes. There is an additional charge for any photos required in digital format, but I can provide them as low resolution jpeg files with a watermark (I insist on a watermark to protect the copyright of my photos.) Please contact me to discuss your needs.
What precautions do you take when visiting puppies?
Having grown up alongside many litters over the years, I understand the concerns of any breeder when allowing visitors to see puppies. When doing a puppy shoot on any pups (up to 4 months) I will bring clean clothing and shoes reserved for puppies with me to change into once I arrive at your home. This is to ensure that I do not bring in any diseases or viruses which may harm pups before they are vaccinated.
Why are there no photos of me winning my class at a show you attended?
Unless I am booked by the show committee, I will generally only take photographs of people who have asked me to. This is due to some exhibitors, in the past, complaining about photographers at shows (before I started photographing shows). If I am photographing a class, there may be some general photos which may include others whom I have not spoken to, but this is not guaranteed. Also, if the show is large with more than 1 ring, please remember that I work by myself, so cannot physically be in two places at once. Requests for class/ presentations coverage will be taken on a first come, first served basis.
